Show HEAVY FINE IMPOSED. Logan Young Man Is Punished for Selling Beer to Boys. Special to Tho Tribune. BRIGHAM CITY. Aug. 15. Arrested for buying beer for minors, George Gldncy of thiB city was fined $50 in Judge Merrill's Mer-rill's court4 Monday night. GIdney Is a young man, just a year or two over age, and he waH induced by the boys to purchase pur-chase five cases of beer for them, as thoy were going to the canyon on a fishing fish-ing trip. Tho boys, who are Arvil Mcr-rell, Mcr-rell, Carl Parsons, John Johnson, Stewart Gilbert and Clifford Rogers, are all under eighteen years. The matter, through some source, was reported to the pollco, who Immediately started an investigation. They learned that 120 bottles of beer had been purchased pur-chased at a local saloon for the boys, and when they went to arrest young GIdney ho at first denied guilt. He was placod under arrest and appeared before Justice Merrnll Friday and pleaded guilty and the time of trial was net for last night. In court GIdney stated that he received thrco boltlea of beer for his trouble. The fine of 550 .Is tho minimum for this particular par-ticular offense and as it was GIdnoy's first offense he was given advantage of tho minimum. |
