Show I TOM SHARKEY INSISTENT V ON HAVING A WINNER ! Once upon a time shortly after Ho had gained wealth and fame In the ring, ; Thomas Sharkey entered a cafe In Boston and ordered a lobster. When the waiter served the lobster Sharkey observed that ; f it had only one large claw. His knowl- edge of lobsters was newly acquired, and ne was proud of It. "What do you mean by bringing mo a ' 1 lobster with only one claw?" he roared at the waiter. "Don't you know who I , i am? Are you trying to cheat me? I pay the regular price and I won't stand for no remnants. Send the head waiter here." The head waiter arrived, trembling. "Let me explain, Mr. Sharkey." said he. "You see. we receive our lobsters alive. Often they get fighting, and now and then one of them will snap a claw off another." "Is that so?" said Sharkey. "Well, that ain't no excuse for slipping me this one. Take him away and bring me a winner." |
