The nineteenth semi-anual report just issued b' tho Northwestern Mutual Firo association of this city shows payment pay-ment of scmi-nnnual cash dividends to policy holders of $o5,lS3.57, and in addition ad-dition to paying these dividends it added add-ed $18,633.7.1, or 10 per cent of all receipts, re-ceipts, top permanent cash surplus. This now gives tho company cash and securities se-curities equal to moro than fivo times tho amount needed to pay losses to expiration ex-piration of all policies as based on the company's past nine years' experience, or 50 per cent more prnporlionara cash resources than tho ten largest stock companies in the United States. Non-Assessable Policios. The company, although a purely mutual mu-tual organization of property owners, issues is-sues only a non-assossablo policy which its largo cash resources enable it to safely do. Every new policy holder bo-comes bo-comes a part owner of the company and receives his proportionate share of dividends. Its profits to policy holders tc date amount to the handsome sum of $830,960.95. The extremely largo profits of tho company aro largoly tho result of a careful system of inspection by which many losses are avoided. This is clearly clear-ly shown by the officia'.yroport of Iho plate insurance department, which shows that tho compai.y led nil other companies in amount of business done :n the state of Washington with a loss ratio of only 33 per cent of its premiums, prem-iums, while' tho company T.earcst approaching ap-proaching it in amount of premiums had n 67 per cent loss ratio.
