Show SALT PALACE TRACK WILL BE RESURFACED Solomon Nelson and Jesse Olson, lessees les-sees of tho Salt Palace, and F. A. Swen-son Swen-son and G. II. Clcavoland. sub lossccs, together to-gether with several of tho bicyclo ridors, rid-ors, held a meeting Tuesday a'fternoon at tho Salt Palaco and decided to 'resurface 're-surface tho bicyclo track extending nine foot from tho polo up. Tho present sur-faco sur-faco is but two years old and appears in lino condition, but nevertheless slivers sliv-ers uro started in some way and tho riders havo suffered greatly therefrom tho present season. An inspection of tho track Tuesday found it in good condition con-dition and much better than tho aver-ago aver-ago Eastern tracks. The now surfacing will bo laid with a soft piuo which will not splinter and upon which tho riders may fall without with-out any danger or serious results as far as slivers aro concerned. Solomon Nelson Nel-son said that tho track should havo been planod tho beginning of tho season, and McFarlaud said that had such been done thero would have been vory littlo trouble trou-ble with slivers at tho present time. A large forco of carpenters will bo put to work this morning and Manager Red man of the track said that it would bo ready for next Friday night's meot. |
