Show CLAIM THAT WRECK WAS DELIBERATELY PLANNED LOS ANGELKS, .June 30. A claim is made by officials of tho Santa Fe railroad" today that the wreck of the California limited near Winslow. Ariz., Sundiy night was deliberatelv brought about bv tin? burning of the bridge, whose absinoe cruised three deaths aud resulted in injury to over thirty people. JI. J. Franklin, general coast claim agent for the company, declared that reports from his subordinates establish a clear case of train wrecking. It is j said t hat the "bridge was so located that I the fire could not have been started bv ; a passing engine; that a train had passed two hours before the wreck, and that in the meanwhile a track walker hail found the bridge in good condition. Two men are said to have been scon running away as the engine crashed into the ditch. Jt is now declared that the wrock of a freight train in the same vicinity on dune 20 was accomplished accom-plished by aii obstruction placed on the track, evidently iu the mistaken belief that the next train due was the Culi-fornia Culi-fornia Limited. |
