Patton, professor of Political Economy of tho University of Pennsylvania, Pennsyl-vania, has advocated that women should marry oarly and whon married thoy should work In order to havo economic Independence. In-dependence. Prof. Patten doplorcd tho fact that so. many married women are In tho leisure class. In order to carry out this plan of economic eco-nomic Independence Prof. Patten stated that the standard of llfo of tho family Bhould never fall below that created by tho Joint lncomo of husband and wlfo, and under no condition should the wlfo think of allowing the burden of hor support sup-port to fall upon hor husband until tho earning power of tho husband had been so enlarged as to admit such action.
