Show Distinguished Railroad Pabtt. Yesterday our sanctum was honored by a call from members of a distinguished distin-guished party of gentlemen connected with the Grand Trunk railway of Canada, Can-ada, who had just arrived from the west The party consisted of William Wainwrieht, W. O'Brien, Henry Ho-gan, Ho-gan, 8. H. Wallis, James Herrey, R. Beanfield, of Montreal; J. Stephen-, son, of Kingston; M. Ship man and C. R. Coker, of Quebec; and C. L Star-! ling, of Belleville, They left, Montreal on the 19th of October, and proceeded . to California, where they visited tbe , most prominent places of interest on the Coajt. Yesterday they visited around our city, and leave this morning morn-ing on their return, visiting Kansas city, - St. Louis and other points en TOUtt. The object of tho trip was pleasure combined with business, in becoming more familiar with the workings of the great railroads which unite the two oceans, and making the personal acquaintance ac-quaintance of their officers. The party speak in the highest terms of the courtesy cour-tesy and generous hospitality which everywhere havo greeted them. Altogether Alto-gether the trip has been most pleasant and one to be remembered by all who participated therein. |
