Show Theatre. "Griffith Gaunt," with its "fair" scene, and attendant pig ohasing, sack racing, thimble rigging and numerous other etcetera", was played last night to a tolerably good house. The Griffith of Mr. Bates was ' a good impersonation, and Miss Wal-! Wal-! ters played excellently the part of Kate PeytoD. Miss Florence Kent, who mado her first appearance upon these boards on this occasion as Mercy Vint, is a pleasing actress, and impressed the audience very lavorably. Tbe remainder remain-der of the characters by Messrs. Tborne, Dudley, Margetts, Graham, Wilton, Forster, Maibcn and others, and Mrs. Bowring, Misses Voeller and Jones, were well represented, and throughout the piece went smoothly. "Griffith Gaunt" will bo repeated to-night. |
