Show GREAT DIAMOND DISCOVERY DIS-COVERY I "Another diamond district on the Piney and Uintah rivers in western Colorado," telegraphs our friend who makes up the press reports at Denver. An engineer's party left Pueblo in September, Sep-tember, and, passing down the Piney, Grand, White, and Uintah rivers reached Salt Lake Ootobei 16th. These engineers, while passing over that portion of the route, indicated by the Piney and Uintah rivers, "were at tracted by the brilliancy of the stones found in this region" to be sure 'and without suspicion of their being diamond" who'd suspect 6uch a thing? "quite a number were gathered gath-ered ns specimens" certainly "and after arriving at Salt Lako City" yes "and hearing of the Ariiona diamonds," dia-monds," just so "their specimens were produced" who saw them? "tested" where? "and proved to be genuine diamonds" Indeed ! With the amount or talent and ingenuity in-genuity known to be centered in the press agent of Salt Lake, and his half dozen deputies especially tho deputy now acting we had no idea that Denver Den-ver could so eclipse this agency. Only a genius of the rarest radiaooy could concoct a talc like the one given. That so great capacity has so long lingered under the shadow of a clcud is to be regretted. That it now bursts forth with effulgent glory is encouraging. To locate these new diamond fields upon the direct route of the Denver, South Pass and Salt Like city railroad rail-road is the great idea that overcometh U3 completely. And at both ends of the route, too, as well as in the central portion 1 Deuced good ! Wo can endorse en-dorse tho judgment of the Denver agent, and extend to him the right hand of fellowship. Of all parts of the known globe there is no district of country where precious gems are more likely to abound than upon the route indicated by the Piney and Uintah rivers. The brilliancy and purity of the diamonds discovered in this region are not excelled by the rarest stones of Southern Africa. Another great advantage is the nearness of the location. loca-tion. Upon the opening of spring there will be so great a rush, into this hitherto unknown land that its development deve-lopment will dim the dazzling glory gathered about Arizona. The engineer's engi-neer's party from Denver hath our paternal blessing. May the skies above their heads be ever blue, the grass beneath their feet be ever grecD, and their fresh young hearts never wither I |
