Show Woman Robbed liOUNTIFUL A 19-year-old south Davis County woman was robbed in the parkins lot of Five Points Shopping Mall last weekend by a man who threatened her with a knife. Til K SUSPECT, who escaped, stole about $90"from the woman and threatened, but did not molest her, according to Police Chief Larry Higgins. The woman, who police Chief Higgins asked to remain annonimous, was not sexually molested or injured but was held hostage for about 15 minutes mi-nutes by the man who held a knife at her throat. THE VICTIM said she was approached from the rear by a man in his mid-20's who told her to "shut up and get back into the car." As she resisted, he pulled short-blade knife and pressed it to her throat threatening, "Keep yourmouth shut; I will not hurt you. All I want is your monev." SHE TOLD police that the suspect then took the money from her purse and while still threatening to harm her, he made advances as if to molest her. "I just kept talking and finally final-ly after about 15 minutes I pur-suaded pur-suaded him to leave," she told Investigating Officer Scott Vaughan. She told police that she promised the attacker that she would wait 15 minutes before be-fore calling for help. THE SUSPECT, described as being about 25 years of age, white male with brown hair and brown eyes, apparently left the scene in a car parked a short distance away. The victim said she had pulled pul-led into the parking lot near the Safeway Store to purchase a candy bar about 12:30 a.m. Saturday. "I DIDN'T notice anything suspicious when I pulled into the parking lot but he was at the side of my car before I could even get out," she told police. |
