Show FARMINGTON The former for-mer interim director of the Davis County Library has accepted a position in Rosw ell. N.M.. effective Sept. 1. SARAH BETH Galloway, of Centerv llle, has been named as library director of the Kosweil City Library and in that position posi-tion will oversee 18 full and part-time employ ees and programs prog-rams for the city of about 50. CM). Her last day w ill be August Au-gust 22 with Davis County. She was named interim director of the Davis County-system County-system last fall w ith the dismissal dismis-sal of Jeanne Layton and relinquished relin-quished the position after Miss Layton's reinstatement in January. MRS. GALLOWAY has filled fil-led many capacities in Davis County, from headquarters reference re-ference librarian, the position she first held when joining the system in 1971, to her current post of public information coordinator. She had worked previously as a cataloger at the University of Utah Marriott Library. ' T r -s - ... -. t ' . SARAH BETH CALLOWAY Educationally, she received a master's degree in library science sci-ence from Brigham Young University in Provo in 1978. THE ROSWELL Library building is about two years old and is "very functional," Mrs. Galloway said, containing a collection of about 50.000. or nearly twice that of either Davis County branches. "I'm impressed with the facilities, the tow n and the library lib-rary board. It's a long way from home." she said, though adding, "1 was looking for an opportunity for increased responsibility re-sponsibility and continued growth. "THEY WANT that library to grow and I think it's a real opportunity and challenge. I'm looking forward to it. I'm going to miss Dav is County but I wish them the best." A native Oklahoman, Mrs. Gallow ay was raised near Idaho Ida-ho Falls, Ida. She has three children and four grandchildren. grandchil-dren. IN ACCEPTING her resignation res-ignation tendered Monday, Library Board Chairman Evan Whitesides said, "We want to express our appreciation. She did put forth great effort while she served as director." |
