Show BOUNTIFUL Bountiful Police Officer Charles F. Youngblood has returned to work after being suspended for days following a charge of "improper conduct." OFFICER Youngblood, a former lieutenant and division chief, was also demoted to the rank of sergeant, according to Police Chief Larry D. Higgins. The chief noted that some officers had criticized city officials offi-cials because they felt the discipline dis-cipline was not harsh enough and that as a shift supervisor he would directly supervise the officer that allegedly reported re-ported Youngblood's actions that led to the investigation and subsequent action against the lieutenant. HOWEVER, Chief Higgins ' emphasized that the personnel matter will be closely monitored moni-tored to be certain there is no wrongdoing or discrimination against any officer. Chief Higgins explained that apparently Lt. Youngblood filed an insurance claim on the city-owned vehicle for damages dam-ages that occurred before a second damage claim involving involv-ing a Pepsi Cola truck. The chief stressed that at no time did Lt. Youngblood stand to gain financially from the insurance insur-ance transaction and that he had actually tried to "correct the wrong he had done." |
