Show West Bountiful The John Trimmings have been entertaining family members mem-bers from out-of-town. John's sister, Eileen Clark and her husband Paul and their children chil-dren have been with them from California. Jack Trimming, their grandfather from Pocatello. Ida. , has also been a visitor in West Bountiful. All of the Trimmings are looking forward to going to Pocatello for a familv reunion. Russell Perkins, son of LeMoyne and Jean Perkins, is recovered enough to come home from the Primary Children's Chil-dren's Medical Center. Ruth and Bob Steele are announcing the birth of their new daughter. The Sixth Ward cub scouts spent a fun time at Cub Country Coun-try up Mill Creek Canyon. Twenty-one boys, under the leadership of Chuck and Con-een Con-een Biggs, Karen Soelberg, and Glenda Taylor, enjoyed the activities. They entered into the BB gun shoot, they panned for silver, did rope tying, leather work, and painting, paint-ing, as well as other things. The Sixth Ward elders had a very successful party up at Doug Richardson's cabin last Saturday night. Those planning plan-ning the party were Ken and Patti Davis, Wendi and Todd Rice, and Dan and Allyson Taylor. Larry and Karen Call report that they had a fun-filled vacation. vaca-tion. The Allen Harrises went to Gunnison to visit relatives. Congratulations to Joan and Ron Littlefield in the birth of their new daughter. Harvey and Elva Jeppson took Eileen Jeppson with them up to Sour Dough at Monte Cristo for a three day visit. They stayed at the cabin of De-Von De-Von and Claire Hammer. The boy scouts of the Second Ward have spent many hours getting ready for their time at Camp Steiner in the Uintas close to Mirror Lake. The John Lees joined in the reunion fever which happens every summer. They went to Ruth's side of the family's get together at Sugarhouse Park. They met in honor of Alois Mathias Hollinghaus and his family. The Randy Arnolds have been entertaining a family from Canada. Randy knew them when he was in the mission mis-sion field. One of the nicest social events of the summer was the shower given by Carol Jeppson Jepp-son and Alta Jeppson Findlay, at the Findlay home, in honor of Charlies new wife. In attendance were Eileen Jeppson, Jepp-son, Jolene Jeppson, Mabel Jeppson, Elva Jeppson, and one of the bride's sister-in-law. Among those attending the open house for Newell Parkin last week were Jon and Becky Parkin, Ellen Parkin Mitchell and Gary Parkin. Charolotte and Raymond Hayes and their family enjoyed en-joyed attending the Henry Van Leeuwen family reunion at the American Fork Park on Aug. 3. Members came from Bountiful, Boun-tiful, Provo and Ogden. The Hayes family also attended the Shadrack Pulley reunion in Woods Cross. Among the guests present were Cecil and Barbara Pulley Cowan and girls from California. Cali-fornia. Daughter Deborah is moving mov-ing into a new home in Tampa, Texas, and she says the w eath-er eath-er has broken all records of heat. Cathy Hayes and fiancee Carl Pratt are planning an October wedding. The West Bountiful Fourth Ward Primary children pesented their Sesquicenten-nial Sesquicenten-nial program, "The Prophet Speaks" last Friday. Ramona Hansen, Deanne Henderson and Debbie Mikesell were in charge of the program. All of the family of Kaye Gibson joined together to have a family party on July 24. Special Spe-cial guests were Jayne's mother-in-law, lone Bishop, and daughter Miriam Stuart and Angela. Earl and Harriet Stephens journeyed to New York to attend the Hill Cumorah Pageant. The boy scouts in the First Ward are looking foward to their summer camp on Aug. 11. They will go on a wilderness wilder-ness hike and camp. Ellen Freestone is attending Weber State where she is taking tak-ing classes to become a teacher. The Freestone family is looking foward to a visit from son and brother, Bob Freestone. Frees-tone. He is coming for a family reunion 1 Ceclia Merrell and her husband, hus-band, Albert, celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. Celia enjoyed a trip to the Logan Temple with the Dan Mitchells to celebrate. Anna Paget also enjoyed going to the Logan area with the Mitchells. Mary Watts joined the group, which all enjoyed a picnic pic-nic at the Adam's School Park. The Charles Evans family enjoyed their vaction in Las Vegas, Inkom, Ida. and Pocatello, Ida. They visisted with relatives in the gem state. The Lloyd Hogan family journeyed to Roosevelt for the Eldredge family reunion. They stayed at the home of Erma's brother, Burr Eldredge. The Eugene Salmons have had a busy summer attending the ball games of their daughter daugh-ter Tina Salmon. She has become be-come a baseball great. She started the summer as a member mem-ber of the Bonnetball Team of Kathy Beagley. The girls w ere chosen as the All-Star team of the area. Through their playing effort and w ins they were chosen to go to Tulsa, Okla. to play in a national playoff. Their coach is Eldeen Trimble Trim-ble of Bountiful. Tina excels as a fielder. Remember the Grand Land Singers at the Valley Music Hall (Regional Center) on Aug. 9. Proceeds will go to the wards. Over 62 attended the elders quorum partv of the Seventh Ward. Citizens of the area are reminded re-minded that it is time to check registration so they w ill be able to vote in the coming national elections. Sept. 9 is the stake blood drive. On the first Sunday in September Sep-tember there will be a new consolidated con-solidated schedule for the wards in the stake. The Seventh Ward will meet at 8 a.m. Cathy Roberts is the new Young Adult Representative in the Seventh Ward. Kelly Amber Syms, infant daughter of Scott and Jan Syms, was named and given a blessing last Sunday in the Seventh Ward Fast and Testimony Testi-mony Meeting. The Homemakine meetinc of the Eighth Ward Relief Society Soci-ety will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 12. The visiting teachers' meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Darlene Warren will give a de , monstration on needlepoint and Mirian Peterson will give a canning demonstration. . All members of the stake are invited to attend the "Trails End" party on Aug. 16. It w ill begin at 6:30 p.m. at the West Bountiful First Ward ball parkl' There will be family fun, relaxation re-laxation and food which is not too expensive (50 cents per plate). You w ill get better acquainted ac-quainted with your fellow: stake members. : ... . This year's missionary fund raising dinner will be on Sept. 12. Watch for further details. The Primary officers and teachers of the Seventh Ward will have their preparation meeting and summer social on Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Hanks' summer home. The Seventh Ward Sesquicentennial Primary Prim-ary production of "The Prophet Speaks," will be held Aug. 27 in the recreational hall. All ward members are invited. |
