Show Wins Law Suit FARMINGTON Mrs. Larae Lewis, of West Point, has won a judgement for $28,702 against Gray Lines Motor Tours of Salt Lake City and she did it all legally and without even a smidgen of a fight. IT ALL happened in Second District Court, Farmington. where Mrs. Lewis filed the claim against the bus company after she suffered a bump on the head that she says she got from a bus baggage door more than a year ago. Mrs. Lewis, through her attorney. Bruce Barton, of Layton. filed the claim alleging that the injury she suffered has caused frequent headaches and that because of the headaches she has suffered loss of time from her employment, employ-ment, medical bills, etc. THE CLAIM was filed in Second District Court on June 23 and summons was served on Charles A. Boynton III, president of Gray Lines two days later. The summons demanded de-manded that the bus company respond within 20 days as to' why a judgement should not be granted to the plaintiff. Lo and behold, 20 days passed pas-sed and for some reason the summons was not answered. Did someone goof? A SPOKESMAN for the bus company refused to discuss the matterexcept to say that an appeal will be filed. Meanwhile. Second District Judge Thornley K. Swan did what he had to do under the circumstances he signed the motion for default from the plaintiffs attorney and at the same time signed the motion for aw arding the claim of more than $28,000 to Mrs. Lewis, grb |
