Show Honored On 80th Birthday h 1 I 1 f JULIA TAYLOR NEVILLE Julia Taylor Neville, 30 year resident of Kaysville, observes her 80th birthday on August 6. She is a matriarch of a large family, a former educator, educa-tor, having taught in Ogden schools and in the English department de-partment of Davis High School for several years and a devoted church worker, leader, teacher, missionary and temple tem-ple worker. SHE WAS honored by a family birthday party on August Au-gust 2 at the home of a son, Dr. Bruce T. Neville of Layton. All of her children and their spouses attended together with her brothers and sisters and many of her 26 grandchildren grandchil-dren and 16 great grandchildren. grandchil-dren. She was born in Salt Lake City, August 6, 1900, a daughter daugh-ter of Dr. Ezra O. and Ida Whipple Taylor and granddaughter grand-daughter of Pres. John Taylor. She grew up on the avenues in Salt Lake City where she was personally acquainted with many of the leaders of the church and graduated with a BA in English from the U. of U. SHE TAUGHT school in Sugar City, Ida. and at the LDS High School in Salt Lake City before. her marriage to Joseph W. Neville Jr. on June 11, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Neville was a professional appraiser with the Bureau of Reclamation. Five children have blessed their union: Joseph T. Neville, a former U.S. government specialist spe-cialist in Washington, D.C., now a Utah state legislative analyst of Bountiful; Julia Anne Gustaveson, wife of Judge Robert C. Gustaveson of Claremount, Calif; Dr. Bruce T. Neville of Layton; Attorney Robert T. Neville of Mesa, Ariz, and Nancy Jane Van Wagoner wife of Drew A. Van Wagoner, real estate agent and musician of Bountiful. Boun-tiful. IN 1966 she and her husband served in the New Zealand Mission for 2'A years. In 1969 they were called on a second mission to Australia for two years, the last six months of which they were called to work in the New Zealand Temple. Upon returning they served as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple where Mr. Neville served as a sealer. In May 1975 after 49 years of happiness, companionship and fulfillment together Mr. Neville passed away. Since that time Mrs. Neville has kept active enjoying and sustaining her family, maintaining her home, and writing her journal and personal history and continuing con-tinuing in temple work. SHE IS an avid reader and student and is vitally interested in-terested in current happenings. happen-ings. Her grandchildren regard her as a "modern-day grandma." grand-ma."
