Show imMli Wil kills fell The 1980 Neighborhood March for the Utah Arthritis Foundation is underway in Bountiful. The campaign is an effort to raise funds for patient services, public education and arthritis research. The foundation founda-tion will be assisted in the campaign cam-paign by several volunteers in- eluding Julene Beck. Sue Gange. Ula Deny. Maureen Douglas. Jean Curtis. Kaye McKee. Sue Carver. Marsha Taylor and many other neighborhood neigh-borhood volunteers. DURING THE drive, volunteers volun-teers will visit their neighbors and friends to explain the effects of arthritis, discuss the symptoms, and emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and treatment. Public understanding of arthritis is imperative. Arthritis Arthri-tis is not nature's way of telling people to slow down because they are getting older, but is a serious systemic disease and America's number one crip-pler. crip-pler. affecting people of all ages, including children. MORE THAN I SI. 000 people peo-ple in Utah suffer from arthritis so severely that medical care is needed. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA). the most dangerous and crippling form of ihe disease, strikes most victims during the 20-45 "prime-of-life" years. There are. however, an estimated esti-mated 2.000 children in Utah suffering from juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Many of these children are confined to wheelchairs and beds. THE Arthritis Foundation is the only health agency dedicated dedi-cated to finding the cause and a cure for arthritis. Neighborhood March. 19S0 will start the week of Max 1.
