Show bpnng Luncheon And Fashion Show Held By BP W Bountiful Business and Professional Pro-fessional Women hosted their annual spring luncheon and fashion show on March 29 at the Servus Drug, with 143 women in attendance from Bountiful and neighboring cities declaring the event a highlight of the year. This fund-raiser provided enough money to meet all BPW's obligations obli-gations for its scholarship fund and its civic projects. EVERY WOMAN received a hand-crafted bud vase as a favor. Many boutique items and tasty bakery goods and candies were sold. A fern stand and planter complete with fern was won by Sally Hatch. Another prize was a hand-knitted afghan in muted greens. Both of these quality items as well as the table decorations were made and donated by Arietta Williams and LeDean Richards, former presidents of BPW. An original seascape painting and a decorated cake were donated by Ada Stewart, vice president. Several other nice prizes were given. SPRING FASHIONS from the Wight House were modeled mod-eled by club members. Club president, Lois Pickett, served chicken pies to the many guests. The speaker for the April meeting of BPW was Lillian Garrett, executive director of the Arthritis Foundation. Pertinent Per-tinent information was given to members concerning this serious se-rious disease. |
