Show Bountiful News By BERTHA L. MUIR 295-3742 The Book Review presented at the Golden Years Center Monday, April 7, was well attended. Mrs. Pauline Scott and Mrs. Zola Jeppson were the planning committee. Mrs. Lois Pickett was the reviewer. Using charts she outlined briefly the eight books of the Jon Jakes, Kent Family Chronicles. Chro-nicles. These books have been an interesting account of a Kent family showing their love for America and in many cases doing much to make America strong. Mrs. Ann Stringfellow will present the life of William Randolph Ran-dolph Hurst at the center on the last Monday of May. She will show slides. This will be the final review for the year. Plans are made to start the reviews re-views again in September. Alvin Moss entertained his family members for brunch on Sunday at the Alta Club in Salt Lake City. There were 25 family fami-ly members present, which included in-cluded children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Only one family group was missing, Captain and Mrs. James R. Holt and three children. Captain Cap-tain Holt is with the Army of Occupation in Germany. Mrs. Wallace E. Hess was a guest of her mother on Easter Sunday. Marjorie and her daughter Julie Ann Hess flew to Seattle on Wednesday where Julie boarded a ship for Alaska. She is employed by the US Forest Ranger's Service Ser-vice and will be in Alaska for the summer. Julie graduated a year ago from the Utah State College with a degree in forestry fore-stry service. For the past six months she has been working out of the Logan division. Firesides are held each Sunday Sun-day evening at 8 p.m. at the Regional Center. Enter at the east door. On April 20 the Bountiful Utah Stake will be host. Richard and Vicky Wheatley will give a talk on the Holy Lands. They will show slides and a musical program will be presented. Remember the Elks Club provides free movies to senior citizens and the general public seven days a week at 12 noon. The location is 139 Last South Temple. Salt Lake City. The manager, Steve Barker, has informed in-formed the Utah State Division Divi-sion of Ageing staff that the movies will be selected and geared toward entertaining the senior citizens in Utah. It is hoped that the senior citizens in Utah will take full advantage of this free serv ice. |
