BLODGETT KAYSV1LLE Dean Hunger, former Davis High School cage star and most accurate shooter in Utah State University basketball history, has been awarded the "Cec" Baker "Most Valuable Player Award" for 1979-80. THE 6-foot 8 postman received the coveted co-veted award during the school's annual basketball awards banquet held recently. The Baker Award is named after the former Aggie coach w ho directed US U cage teams to 157 victories during his 11-year career from 1950 to 1961. . Hunger's honor was a highlight of an evening which saw the Aggie team and its first-year coach Rod Tueller honored for a 19-8 season and a third straight appearance in a post-season tournament. The 1979-80 Aggies put together an 1 1-2 record in Pacific Paci-fic Coast Athletic Conference (PCAA) competition, capturing the school's first conference title in 43 years. HUNGER WAS also the recipient of the Joe W. Whitesides Award presented to the outstanding senior student-athlete in either basketball or football. He maintained a 3.42 grade-point average in marketing and economics eco-nomics and was named to the first team Academic All-America. The same honor was bestowed on Danny Ainge of BYU.
