Show Ity VAL All W LOOK LIKKS? Are Dennis Cole and Robert Urich related? They look so much alike. Sonia Gonzalez, Trenton, N.J. No relationship between the two actors. FOR ANYONE - I don't know why you find the M.D. show "Trapper John" stupid. How come "Emergency" lasted last-ed so long and still is with us in repeats? You hear the same line on that show all the time, and Brackett (Robert Fuller) and Early (Bobby Troup) seem to be the only doctors ever on duty at the hospital. You say that "Trapper John" is a remake of "M.A.S.H." If it is, why doesn't it stay on the air, since "M.A.S.H." has? If everybody would think like you, all TV medical shows would be like "Marcus Welby, M.D." serious all the time. Denisa Boudreau, Moneton, N.B., Canada The problem with your letter let-ter is it reached the wrong person, since I never said "Trapper John" was stupid. I don't think it is overly interesting, inter-esting, but it is a notch better than lots that is on. It's not a remake of "M.A.S.H." at all, it merely took a character from that series and put him in nothing like Wayne Holers either, so some bite is missing. miss-ing. And I don't do operations or windows. TV HISTORY Please tell me if Gary Lockwood was ever on a TV series. If so, what was the name of it? C.Y., Ligonier, Pa. In 1961, Gary was on a series called "Follow the Sun," which also had Barry Coe and Brett Halsey as freelance free-lance magazine writers who worked out of Hawaii and sailed around in their ship. Gigi Perreao played their part-time secretary. In 1963, Gary starred in a series set in California's Camp Pendleton Marine base. It was called "The Lieutenant," and Robert Vaughn co-starred. FIRST EFFORT Please tell me what movies or TV shows Levar Burton starred in before "Roots." J.O., Chicago, 111. "Roots" marked Levar's professional debut. Prior to that he was an acting student at USC. (Do you have a question about TV? Drop us a line in care of Newspaper Enterprise Assn., 200 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10017.) |
