Show Bountiful By BERTHA L. MUIR 295-3742 Mr. and Mrs. Richard N. Smith and their six children and Mrs. Ruth S. Smedley spent last weekend at the Smith lodge at Bear Lake. They enjoyed a trip to see the Tony Creek Lake area. The USCSC is a Utah senior power group which advocates a better life for Utah's senior citizens by bringing them together to speak for themselves. them-selves. They organize senior citizens ci-tizens to share their views, identify their needs and plan solutions to solve their problems. They also inform senior citizens ci-tizens and others about current issues concerning older persons through its membership newsletter and news media. They represent senior citizens throughout Utah in their local communities, communi-ties, before public bodies in the state legislature, at public service commission hearings and any place where seniors must be heard. They also assist individuals and groups looking for answers to questions and problems senior citizens cannot can-not solve alone. There are some elderly people in our community who can live in their own homes if help can be found to assist them with housekeeping. The Council on Aging staff reports that for anyone who will do this type of work they will be paid $2.95 an hour. This help will be needed a few hours each day. If anyone is interested please contact The Council of Aging, 867-2211 or 773-7500. Your help now might assure help for yourself at some future date. George E. Ledingham of Ogden, Glen W. Ledingham and Bertha L. Muir of Bountiful Boun-tiful visited their sister, Ruth Ledingham, in Spanish Fork last Tuesday. Mrs. Dora V. Trowbridge attended a meeting of the state executive board of the Eight and Forty-in Ogden Oct. 13. Delegates were present from Ogden, Salt Lake City, Price and Bountiful. Boun-tiful. She also visited with her sister, Mrs. Lydia Campbell, who is an Ogden resident. Mr. and Mrs. James Bombard Bom-bard were dinner guests of Glen Ledingham and Bertha L. Muir at the Muir home Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. James Bombard Bom-bard entertained a large group of their LDS Ward members at a fireside last Sunday. There are many events planned each month for the Young Adults and Special Interest Groups. On Thursday at 9 p.m. there was a dance at the Kaysville Stake House. The Centerville Region has planned a secret auction. Anything worth $1.25. Prizes were brought in a brown paper bag tied at the top. The date is Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Centerville South Stake House, 270 North 300 East, Centerville. |
