Show ; -.,. I i t i ; I FIRST PLACE Much head turning around town has been caused by the Bpuntiful Area Chamber of Cornmerce annual picture painting contest. Many windows win-dows in the area have been glorified with autumn splendor splen-dor ; by the paintings of various area high schools and This painting on the window of Zion's First National Bank won first place in the junior high school division. It is part of the activities being planned by the Bountiful Area Chamber of Commerce for its Autumn Twilight sale this week. Students from Centerville Jr. High did the work. junior high schools. This has been part of the Chamber's Autumn Fall Festival. The winners were judged in two categories: Senior high school division and junior high school division. The judging was done by the Bountiful Arts Center, Anton J. Rasmussen director. WINNING TOP honors in the senior high division was Bountiful High School with their painting "At the Spinning Spin-ning Wheel." First place in the junior high division was won by Centerville Jn High with their painting at Zions First National Bank. They were each awarded $100 for first place. Second place honors in the senior division went to Bountiful Boun-tiful High for their painting at Barton Family Shoes and .second place honors in the junior division went to Millcreek Jr. High for their painting at American Savings and Loan. Each of these schools will be awarded $35 for taking second place. THIRD PLACE painting can be seen at Frank's Clothing where Bountiful High took senior high honors and Bountiful Jr.' High's '" . painting at Thoughtful Gifts f took third place in the junior. division. Each of these schools will receive $30 for third place. Honorable mention prizes went to Viewmont High School and Woods Cross High School and each will receive $25. There will be thank you gifts presented to each 'student participating, .compliments of several of the- -' Bountiful area merchants. ' |
