Show Brothers Awarded Dairy Scholarships Two Farmington brothers have each been awarded a $1,000 scholarship in dairy science at Utah State University. Univer-sity. They are Calvin and Flint Richards, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Richards. DR. GEORGE E. Stoddard, chairman of the department scholarship committee at USU, said these scholarships are awarded on the basis of the students' achievements while attending USU during the past year. They will help pay for tuition and other educational costs during the current school year. The scholarship is provided in memory of Prof. George B. Caine, who was head of the Dairy Science Department at the college from the time it was organized in 1919 until his retirement in 1957. The father of the two boys receiving the scholarship was one of Prof. Caine's students. He graduated graduat-ed in dairy science in 1955. ; - calvin Richards;; is.' combining a dairy major with . a pre-veterinary program. He,! plans a professional career,' with dairy cattle. He was, awarded a similar scholarship a previous year. " Flint Richards is preparing himself to return to the family dairy farm at Far- ; mington. There he will manage the dairy herd as a ' partner with his father. |
