Ruth Handley is enjoying her time as she is beginning to teach school at the West Bountiful Elementary School. The Lynn Johnsons are happy to announce the engagement en-gagement of their daughter Janet to Ray Preece of Bountiful. Boun-tiful. Signe Jensen took time to visit with Kate Anderson twice during the past week. She looked amazingly well for her 87 years. Her roommate is "94 years old and is still crocheting flowers and afghans. The ladies at the home asked that Signe bring them some tomatoes from her garden. Brian Moore, who has been called on a mission to Colombia, Colom-bia, took time to enjoy his last deer hunt for some years. He will have his farewell in sacrament meeting on Nov. 25. We bid a fond goodbye to the Jerry Kilpacks, who are moving from the area to Richland, Mo. They have been an integral part of the Bountiful Boun-tiful area for many years. They and the children will be missed. We wish them well, wherever they go. The Dave Hepworths celebrated at a family dinner last Saturday. The occasion was the moving-in of daughter Karen into her new home. Fifteen of the family members enjoyed the get-together. get-together. Among them were Ellen and Bob and children Kevin and Craig, Daryl, Karen and Donna Park, Ruth Clawson, Paul and children and, .of course, Grandpa and Grandma Hepworth. James Garner . was graduated from Primary, given his Duty to God Trail award, and sustained to become ordained a deacon, on Sunday afternoon. His sister Carrie was over from Carbon County with her daughter Penney and new son, for the special occasion. The Second Ward Cub Pack meeting will be held Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. Stake Beehive Standards Night will be held the same night. The Promised Valley Playhouse will show the musical, ."The Music Man" Oct. 25 to Nov. 17. The Deseret Industry drive for the Second Ward will be Thursday evening, Oct. 25. Everything to be taken should be put on the front porches. The Dan Mitchells entertained enter-tained a Peruvian family on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Tues-day. They are some of the members in the area where Camille Mitchell is serving as a welfare service missionary. Shauna Muir visited in West Bountiful Sunday. She is working and living in Salt Lake City. Elaine Mann also visited in West Bountiful. She had been in West Bountiful for so many years. She is certain she will find many good friends in Bountiful as she becomes accustomed ac-customed to her life there. Everyone is invited to at-: tend the Book of Mormon classes, held at the Woods Cross Seminary, from Oct. 23 to Jan. 29. Particulars can be obtained from the bishops. The teacher will be Prof. Virgil Vir-gil Howell. Remember that the Fackrell Camp of the DUP will meet at the home of the Dan Mitchells, 921 North 800 West, West Bountiful, Thursday, Thurs-day, Oct. 25. All members or possible members are invited to attend. Lawrence Bull, long time resident of West Bountiful, and son Carl were visitors in the area last Sunday. Lawrence's mother, Erma Bull, is back in her home in Evergreen Circle. Welcome home. Ruth Lee and daughters visited in American Fork during the deer hunting weekend. They enjoyed seeing see-ing Ruth's friend, Sharon Ernst. Remember the upcoming bazaar to raise funds for the University of Utah Infant Intensive In-tensive Care home to be held at the Fashion Place Mall on Oct. 26 and 27 and at the Cottonwood Cot-tonwood Mall on Nov. 5. The home will be used to house parents of critically new-boms, new-boms, who are from outside of the Salt Lake City area.
