'- - - : Funeral 'Services Eerdfoy- - Cedar City Matron Funeral services were held In th Cedar Third Ward chapel on Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Isora Fern Ashworth Houchen, 64, who -died Sunday afternoon following a long Illness. Mrs. Houchen was born In Bea. ver on Aug. 1, 1891, a daughter of Oliver and Elmlrt Goodwin Ashworth. She spent her youth In Beaver, and married John Edward Ed-ward Houchen on June 9, 1921 In Beaver. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Emerette Wllden. Beaver; and Mrs. Joyce Smith, Cedar City; and two brothers, John Ashworth, Ash-worth, Beaver, and Ross Ashworth, Ash-worth, West Jordan, Utah. The services were conducted by Bishop Austin Heywood. Speakers were Carlos Murdock, Samuel F. Leigh and Bishop Heywood. A tribute from the Ce-dar Ce-dar Third Ward Relief Society was read by Nellie Adams. Invocation was by George W. Grlmshaw, benediction by I. E. Riddle, and the dedicatory prayer pray-er at the cemetery by John Ashworth Ash-worth of Beaver. Prayer at the mortuary before the services was by Clyde Smith. The musical program included the opening song, "My Father Knows," by a mixed quarter comprised of Lois McConnell, Mamie Eck, Ray Cosslett and C. Wililam Macfarlane, accompanied accompan-ied by Beth Leigh; a vocal duet, "Whlsperiiig Hope," by Esta Cix and Anona Swindlehurst of waver, accompanied by Mrs. Paul Dahl, and a vocal solo by Christine Winterrose, accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Dahl. Preliminary brgan music was by Ferrol Dene Baldwin. |
