Show MR. AND MRS. GEORGE A. WOOD George and Sabina Wood to Celebrate 60th Wedding Anniversary December 10 One of southern Utah's oldest couples will observe their 60th wedding anniversary this coming com-ing week. They are Mr. and Mrs. George A. and Sabina Wood. They are in California but will observe their wedding anniversary on December De-cember 10 with relatives and friends In that area. They are staying during the winter months at 921 Joy Street, Corona, Calif. As an early builder In the southern Utah area there are many remaining monuments attesting at-testing to his work. Some of the buildings which were built under un-der his direction are the Cedar First Ward LDS Chapel, the El Escalante Hotel, now being used by College of Southern Utah for dormitory facilities; the LDS Institute Ins-titute of Religion, Cedar City Junior High School the Union Pacific Passenger depot and many of the older homes of the community. While employed with the Utah Parks Company he also directed the construction of lodge and cabin ca-bin facilities at Cedar Breaks National Monument, Zion, Bryce and Grand Canyon National Parks. Mr. and Mrs. Wood were mar ried in the Salt Lake Temple on Dec. 10, 1902. They lived in Og-den Og-den for eight years before moving mov-ing to Cedar City where they have resided since. During the past several years the Woods have gone to California during the winter months and left Just after Thanksgiving this year to spend the winter in that area. The couple are the parents of eight children, four of whom are living. They are Max J. Wood, Corona; Mrs. F. P. (Lucile) Binle, Palo Alto, Calif.; Mrs Lural (Beverlee) Smith, Pico, Calif., and Mrs. Stanley (Audrey) Bryant Cedar City. I MR. AND MRS. ALBERT C. BIEDERMAN |
