In the group that did not claim a special talent, Miss Wanda Romney was awarded first place, Miss Helen Seegmiller, second and Miss LaPrele Gubler, third. These girls were sponsored by the St. George Drug, Penney's and Snow's Dress Shop. The O. K. Market sponsored Miss Thompson. ' A large crowd was present to see the contest which presented the girls, of which there were 14, in their evening frock first and in their bathing suits for the final. General satisfaction was expressed ex-pressed for the decision of the judges and fine acclaim was given each girl as she appeared. Close voting by the judges indicated that they rated all the girls as "real beauties". Only half a point, separated the first place r and second place winners in each group. Marion Snow was the announcer with E. W. Simmons representing the Chamber of Commerce and making the awards. |
