Show Hurricane Miss Audrey Ballard Reporter Miss Barbara Tweedie spent Wednesday Wed-nesday and Thursday at Grand Canyon with friends, Miss Noma Andrus of St. George, Roy Nis-son Nis-son and Rodney Neilson of Washington. Wash-ington. Miss Florence Tweedie left on Wednesday to visit with Miss Doris Demille of Rockville. The Hurricane junior baseball team played St. George junior boys on the Hurricane field. The score was 22-11 in favor of St. George. Mrs. Charles O'Brian, daughter, Zona, and infant son, of Rockville Rock-ville returned home after a few days visit with Mrs. Anna J. Wood of Hurricane. James J. Jennings left Sunday for Logan mountain where he will spend the remainder of the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Humphries returned Tuesday after a few days of fishing at Duck Creek. Miss Leah Wood returned home Sunday after having attended summer school in Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Dell Smith of Cedar City and family spent the week end visiting with relatives. Misses Leanna Spendlove and Stella Isom returned Saturday after a brief visit in Kanarraville. Mr. and Mrs. Ira H. Bradshaw and family returned Saturday from a brief trip to Cedar mountain. moun-tain. Mr. and Mrs. Claudius Hirschi and son, Waldo, spent the week end on Cedar mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Webb Barber and family spent a few days on Cedar mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Sheridan Ballard sons, Delbert and daughter, Elaine, of Boulder City were week end visitors in Hurricane, going on to Duck Lake Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Humphries have as their guest, Joe Lee, of Arizona. Sunday, Miss Phyllis Bradshaw entertained friends at a trousseau tea held at her home. Afton Humphries returned Friday Fri-day after a few days of employment employ-ment in the movies on Cedar mountain. Monday, Mr. and Mrs.- Bernard Isom took as their guest to Salt Lake City, Miss Opal Isom, who will visit for a short time with Mr. and Mrs. Lowell McAllister. Mr. and Mrs. Ermal Stratton, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Stratton, Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Stratton and families "spent two days on Cedar mountain. Last Tuesday Miss Verlin Wood joined her parents, who are employed em-ployed by the movies up on Cedar mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Isom and Mr. and Mrs. James Jepson returned re-turned home Tuesday after a week's visit in Snowflake, Ariz. Paul Gates moved his house from its location on the outskirts out-skirts ' of town to a position nearer Main street where he has just completed a basement. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Graffs home in Hurricane is very nearly completed and they plan to move from LaVerkin at the beginning of August. Miss Susana Ballard is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Ed Leavitt of Bunkerville. Mrs. Jess Robb of Paragonah is here staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Slack. Mr. and Mrs. Finley Judd left Thursday for a week's visit at the San Francisco World's fair. Miss Louie and Glenna Hall returned after spending several weeks in Provo visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Verdin Listen. Mrs. Belvine Hall and baby son are in Bountiful, Utah, visiting visit-ing with friends and relatives. Miss Alda Hinton, who has been the guest of Miss Merlene Stevens and Elaine Hamilton at Grand Canyon, returned home Friday after a two week's visit. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Englestead returned Tuesday from Salt Lake where they spent July 24. Anthonv Isom left Wednesday for Richfield where he will visit with friends. Mr and Mrs. Warren Johnson spent July 24 at Duck Creek. Mr. and Mrs. Cummon Stratton visited Leland Sout's sawmill on Cedar mountain from Saturday through Monday. Miss Naomi Conger of Overton is here staying with Miss Beulah Barber Clinton and William Isom returned re-turned here Sunday with their sister Mrs. Maurice Judd, who plans' to visit for a few days. Mona Wilson. Genevieve Isom. LaVar Hinton. Clayton Stout and Marian Hinton left for Fredoma Saturday where Miss Ella Brooks-by Brooks-by joined them to go on to the Three Lakes dance. They visited the Coop, sawmill and Kanab. returning to Fredonia Sunday for the "All night dance". Doc Cox, Glenn and Bill Hall spent a week fishing at Deep creek on Cedar mountain, returning re-turning Sunday. While there, Glenn was bitten by a rattlesnake. rattle-snake. He poured kerosene on the bite and suffered no ill effects. LaMar Svphus, Jack Stratton Merlin Hirschi, Duard Ballard and Ned Wright spent Sunday in Kanab. |
