Show South Ward Plans Carnival For August 5th On August 5 the south ward is planning another ward carnival. One of its purposes is to raise funds to pay the ward's allotment towards the reconditioning of the stake Tabernacle. All ward members mem-bers are asked to make contributions contri-butions of various kinds; and the auxiliaries are each sponsoring some special feature towards the success of the day. An apron bazaar, country store, cafeteria lunches, ice cream cones, pop, etc. are being worked out to add to the pleasure and profits of the day. A cloth shoe has been given to each family in the ward with the invitation to pay for the family's "understandings" at the rate of a penny an inch. The street from the south ward chapel to the tabernacle will be decorated and used as a center for dancing and games. From other occasions the members of the south ward have learned that an annual ward day can do much towards cementing the unity of its member's as well as providing funds for necessary ward projects. While each family will be asked to make their free will contribution, contribu-tion, the committee in charge promises full face value for every dime spent on this occasion. And as before they are extending a cordial invitation for all townspeople towns-people to come to the south ward chapel at 4 p.m. on the afternoon of August 5, and join with them in the pleasures of the evening.. |
