Show D.U.P. Take Charge Of Toquerville 24th Fete TOQUERVILLE, Utah The D.U.P. had charge of the Pioneer Day celebration with the grand parade at 8:30 led by the Marshal of the Day, L. S. Kleinman. The meeting was opened at 9:30 with the song, "Come," Come, Ye Saints"; prayer by Mrs. E. A. Anderson, chaplain, followed. Blanch Lamb and Rowena W. Slack sang a dramatized duet, "When They're Gone Do Not Forget Them"; oration by Bp. Leo Bringhurst; trumpet trio Morgan Bringhurst, 'Ben and George Slack; talk, "Utah As Was" by Evelyn Slack; solo, "Utah As It Is", Elizabeth Bringhurst; Bring-hurst; reading, Mrs. Addie Naegle; song, "Utah We Love Thee", Utah's Maids, Doris Bringhurst, Laurel Jackson, Thelma Olds and Evedeen Beatty; story, Mrs. E. A. Anderson; tribute to pioneers, Mrs. Lillian Bringhurst; song, "Away Out In The West"; prayer, chaplain. The program continued with sports at 3 p.m. During the day the building committee for the new chapel sold hot dogs, ice cream and root beer. |
