Show Mrs. Manomas Andrus Honored In South Ward Mrs. Manomas Andrus, one of Utah's two living pioneers of 1847 was especially honored in the south ward chapel program last Sunday evening. Mrs. Andrus is past 97 and though blind for many years is able to enjoy such events, her hearing still being fairly keen. The program included the singing sing-ing of Pioneer songs by the congregation. con-gregation. "This Is The Place", vocal solo, by Dil worth Snow, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Mae A. Pace; "The Women of Dixie" an interesting in-teresting recital by Mrs. Zaidee W. Miles; "Leaders of the West" by Gordon Mathis, and a tribute to Pioneers by Mabel Jarvis. LcH.i Sullivan presided at the pipe organ. Cottam, Lyman Ly-man Canfield and Mr. and Mrs. William Atkin Sr., as her escort. She was remembered on that day with a large box of sweets from the state chapter of the D.U.P. and with a beautiful boquet of garden flowers, a gift from Mrs. Emma Booth Larson of this city. |
