Show Last To Fight in Europe Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Slack from their son, Cpl. George H. Slack that on the day of surrender of the Germans, his division, the 71st division of the Third Army, was the last to cease fighting. He belongs to the regiment glee club and when they met the Russians, they sang for them. The Russians were very pleased and called the director over and drank a toast with him. Pa P3 pa Digging In Foxholes are. no longer a mystery mys-tery to Pvt. Robert E. Harper. He writes that he and Pvt. Wesley Whitehead are still together and are having plenty of experience digging in. He says they are both well and keeping bsuy. His wife and small daughter, Gwendolyn live in St. George. |
