Show Car Dealers Say 'No Hew Cars Yet' " In spite of the fact that many newspapers are playing up the story of 6000,000 new automobiles to be started July 1, 1945, con-sciencious con-sciencious dealers are asking anx- h ious purchasers not to anticipate getting that new car very soon, says Howard Judd of Judd Motor, St. George Chevrolet dealers. VVPB has assured the industry that the way will be opened for the production of 200,000 new cars in 1945 and 400,000 cars during dur-ing the first quarter of 1946. Possibility Pos-sibility of a few cars being built during the third quarter of 1946 is also suggested. While 200,000 cars sounds like a good round figure, it means only a possible 7 cars per dealer, explains Mr. Judd, and few of these will in all probability, be delivered this year. Priorities will still be in effect, it is explained, and customers are urged to remember that they must not neglect the service re-quirments re-quirments on their present cars in the hope of getting a new automobile auto-mobile very soon. All dealers are urging customers to take better care than ever of their cars, keep them in first-class first-class condition and prepare themselves them-selves to wait along time for the new car. |
