Stationed on a troop transport, he was very surprised, but also very happy when he discovered four Washington Wash-ington county boys on board, bound for Manilla. He reports he went ashore at Manila, Leyte and New Guinea. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Baker of St. George. He will report back to Treasure Island. Pa Pa A Daddy, Now Perry H. Keller ARM 2 e. who is stationed at Memphis. Tenn., has been advised of the birth of a son in Hurricane on June 3. It is hoped he can come home on leave soon and meet the new master. Mrs. Keller is the former Carma Stapley of Toquerville. Pa pb n Returns to I'st Pvt. Ralph Carpenter, who has been home on furlough the, past two weeks visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Carpenter, is leaving this week for Fort Ord, Calif, for his next assignment. Pa Pa P On Extended Ieave. Lt. (j.g.) Adelia Rusliforth arrived ar-rived over the week end from San Francisco fur an extended visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Hall and other relatives. She is reported making excellent recovery from her recent illness. Pa Pa Pa v Visit In St. Georgo Lt. and Mrs. Park P. Cox spent the past week in St. George visiting visit-ing his mother Mrs. Golda Ray and other realtives. For the past several months Lt. Cox has been on ferrying ' duty between Great Falls, Montana and Alaska. Fven though Dixie weather is remarkably remark-ably cool, both Lt. and Mrs. Cox said it was a very '-acceptable change from what they have been having. They returned to Montana Mon-tana Tuesday, planning to visit relatives In Kanab nnd Snlt Lnke City enroute. Lt. Cox anticipates an overseas assignment before many months. Pa Pa pa Advanced Thurmer Jacobs, husband of Helen Miles Jacobs, formerly of St. George, was recently given an advancement in rating. He is now Radio technician .Vc and is stationed sta-tioned at Treasure Island. Mrs Jacobs is living In San Francisco |
