Show Reviewers Hear Book; Athenas Hold Party Mrs. LeRoy H. Cox was hostess to the Dixie Reviewers Wednesday, Wednes-day, June 6 at the McQiiarrie memorial hall when Mrs: Ray Whipple reviewed the book, "How Dear To My Heart" by Emily Kimbro. Guests for the afternoon were Mrs. Virginia Boyack, Miss Vera Perkins, Mrs. Lorraine Cox, Mrs. A. K. Hafen and Mrs. T. Wendell Wen-dell Bayles. Lunch was served to 15. Officers recently elected, who will take over September 1, 1945, are Mrs. Donald Schmutz, president; presi-dent; Mrs. J. T. Atkin Jr., vice president; and Mrs. Walter Jensen, Jen-sen, secretary. Hostesses to Athena club members mem-bers and their partners Friday evening were Mrs. Charles Pickett, Mrs. Henry Pickett, Mrs. W. W. Cannon, Mrs.' Flora Brooks, Mrs. Harry Pearce, Mrs. M. L. McAllister, Mc-Allister, Mrs. Mattie Empey and Mrs. Estella McArthur. The party was held at the Charles Pickett home. Guests were seated at small tables for the smartly planned war-time dinner which was fol-Hlowed fol-Hlowed by Rook. High score honors for the evening went to Mrs. Guy Hafen and consolation to Henry Pickett. Club members, their partners and guests attending attend-ing totaled 32. |
