Show HURRICANE Mrs. Thomas Hinton (AUNT MIXA) Keporter Mr. and Mrs. LaWayne Wood and Mrs. Nettie Spendlove spent last week in Hurricane visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Fenton Hirschi and nephews, neph-ews, Jerry and LaMar returned Sunday from Ogden where Mrs. Hirschi has been visiting for two weeks with her brother, Ray Bradshaw and family. Jerry and LaMar are here visiting for two weeks with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Bradshaw. Waldo, son of Senator and Mrs. Hirschi went to Salt Lake City Monday for his physical examination. Grant Langston has gone to Las Vegas to seek employment. The Misses Utahna Stanworth and Ramona Black spent last week visiting in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. George Wood and twins. Fawn and Fern, and grandson, grand-son, Kelley Isbm of Las Vegas visited with Mrs. Ora Williams from Monday. until Thursday. Mrs. William's son, Jake spent the week end home from Las Vegas. Mrs. Betsy Hardy of Bunker-ville, Bunker-ville, mother of Mrs. Elmer Graff spent last week visiting-here. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Larson left Friday for Provo to spend a few days visiting with their son, Leo and family. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lyon of Overton spent Friday visiting with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Nuttall. The Misses Geneva and Irene Barrett of Mendon, sisters of Pres. Ivan Barrett spent last week visiting with their brother. They returned home Saturday. Florine Tweedie is home from the University of Utah where she has been attending school. Mary Reber Langston and Char-line Char-line Tweedie have gone to Ogden to work. Elva Wright is home on a two-weeks two-weeks vacation from Glendale. Calif., where she has a defense job. The Lions club held their meeting meet-ing Monday evening at Mayor Sandberg's home. Mayor Sand-ber Sand-ber gwas elected president and Owen Sanders was re-elected as secretary for the coming year. The South ward building committee com-mittee reports their ward day last Wednesday a grand success. They cleared more than S300. on their strawberry supper and dance and other sports. The Beet Growers from all the surrounding towns met on Friday night for a dance and strawberry supper. A large crowd was in attendance and an enjoyable evening eve-ning spent. The Misses Sybel and Lorna Isom and Ramona Hirschi have gone to Los Angeles for a weeks visit. Mrs. J. E. Warren of Cedar City is here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Woodbury. Fenton Whitney had the misfortune mis-fortune of having a load of hay tip over on him. It hurt his knee and leg which had previously been injured. The Legion Auxiliary met Monday Mon-day at the home of Annie Hirschi for their regular Auxiliary meeting. meet-ing. Mrs. Alma Thomas, the former Julia Wilson, and Miss Nola Wilson Wil-son arrived from Los Angeles recently. re-cently. Mrs. Thomas will remain here, but Nola has gone to Shelley, Shel-ley, Idaho to work. Mrs. Newel Frazer is home from the Iron county hospital where she underwent surgery. News Of Servicemen Pvt. Kenyon Graff arrived Saturday Satur-day from Auburn Calif, hospital on a 30-day furlough. He had spent four months in a hospital in England before coming back to the good old U. S. A. Ernest N. Black MM3C of Camp Parks, Calif, spent 14 days here visiting with his wife, who is a sister to George Cooper. He left Friday to return to Camp Parks prior to going overseas. Wilden Tweedie Slc is here on leave. He has finished his boot training at San Diego, Calif. He has had pneumonia while home. He will go to Great Lakes, Michigan for further training. The Hall family met at the home of Lafayette Hall to honor Milton Hall, who is home on furlough. fur-lough. Coming from a distance to attend at-tend the memorial services for Junior F.
