Show East Ward Selects New Bishopric At Vard Conference A major business of the East ward conference held Sunday, June 3, concerned the complete reorganization of the ward bishopric. bishop-ric. Wilford Schmutz, who has served more than four years as bishop, and his counselors, Arthur Cottam and Paul S. Seegmiller, and Clair S. Terry, ward clerk, were released. Mr. Cottam has served a total of 15 years under three bishops, and both Mr. Seegmiller Seeg-miller and Mr. Terry have served for extended periods. Chosen to fill the position as bishop is Lewis E. Christian, with Walter A. Pace as first, and Le-Roy Le-Roy H. Nazer as second counselor. Both Mr. Christian and Mr. Pace have been members of St. George stake High Council for several years. Mr. Nazer, who is manager of Sprouse Reitz store has also been active in church organizations. organiza-tions. The position of clerk has not yet been filled, but will be shortly, advises Pres. H. S. Snow, who with counselor Vernon Worthen and most of the High Council members attended the conference.
