The first Utah club was orgarvased in Rii 186 6 and wa3 Known as the Eurekaa rl This aggregation played a couplo ot FWf years, easily winning the champion- "Sl ship and wan followed by tho Enneo -A $ club which defeated Corlnno for tho j'i championship n 1S69. The Red Sox il and Desorots wero the next teams to '! ' gain fame. The National's held tho j h title until tho late '80's until the Salt I ;! Lake team was organized in 1888, ;! which won the championship from ( this famous toam. J J The first leaguo was organized In j i 1900 and was known as tho Utah-Idaho I il league comprising the Rio Grandes j j' and Short Linen of Salt Lake, Ogden t m and Pocatollo. Ogden won the flag. In 1901 tho Utah suite league was j! j organized with Salt Lake railroads, j ' Park City and Ogden. Lagoon took ' tho franchise about the middle of tho ( "j season. I The season closed with Salt Lako In ! last placo. , In 1904 the Pacific National leaguo was ro-organlzod with Salt Lake, Boise. Butte and Spokane. Salt Lako again flniahod in last place. In 1905 I! tho 4f.mc league was organized with ' ( ' o.aii J.aho, ugdon, Spokane and I J. ( Boise, but disbanded in July, Salt Lako I j oln last place, Ogden second. If! In 1906 a state league was organ- 1U Ized with Salt Lako, Ogden, Eureka I j and Park City. Ogdon wlthdrow and I j Eureka won the pennant for the first S half.
