oo AUTO TOP FACTORY HEED QUARTERS In the auto top building business the J. G. Read Brothers company ol this city has run apace with the "progress "pro-gress made in the past number of years in the automobile business, and has modernized its plant to the highest high-est point of efficiency. It was not many years ago when j this company began the manufactur-I manufactur-I ing of tops, Us factory in the beginning begin-ning being located largely on the Hud-ison Hud-ison avenue curb. The first auto top placed on a car by this firm was done on the sidewalk in front of its little jshop. there being no convenient space ; on the inside. The demand for this ' line of operation began to grow and it was not long until it became neces-sary neces-sary for tho company to enlarge Its working quarters. A building furnishing furnish-ing space of about 100 square feet was provided and the boys worked cheerfully cheer-fully under the impression that they had a swell place, but they soon began be-gan to clamor for more room. Tho company then began building operations opera-tions in real earnest in the erection of an addition at the rear end of the little shop. This new structure has just been completed and fully equipped with the modern appliances for making and repairing re-pairing auto tops. The lloor space Is 36 x 150 feet, extending from Hudson avenue to near the middle of the block between Hudson and Grant avenues, between Twenty-third and Twenty-fourth Twenty-fourth streets. Professional auto top builders are employed in this factory, the company's plan being to mako the very highest quality goods and be able to supply the auto top demand in this soctlon of the country. The factory lis said to be among the largest of its kind in the Intermountaln country.
