0TiliPR Mayor's Investigation Shows Rumors of Profiteering Without Foundation An investigation which has been carried car-ried on under the direction of Mayor Prank Francis, following the complaint of persons that prices of overalls had taken a decided rise since the inauguration inaugu-ration of the "overall" movement, here has shown the complaints to be without with-out foundation, according to an announcement an-nouncement mndc yesterday by Mayor Francis. The investigation has shown he declared, that prices have maintained main-tained a steady level in spite of the abnormal demand since the opening of the "overall" move. Mayor Francis said that the probe resulted in the obtaining of informa-tion' informa-tion' from the wholesalers of overalls that a rise in price is contemplated in the near future, owing to tho increased cost of raw material. Due to the scarcity of overalls and the enormous demand at present, Mayor Ma-yor Francis r-aid that the high cost of clothing could be more successfully successful-ly combatted through the wearing of old and even patched clothing. He declared that the city employes have adopted this move instead of purchasing purchas-ing overalls and working a hardship on workmen who absolutely need the denini3 in their employment.
