Shum-1 way of Garland, contend that the new high school should be erected where they promised it would be erected, when the ground was purchased. Members Mem-bers T. H. YVheatley of I-Ioneyville, Seeley of Rosette and Jesse W. Hoopes of Brigham, voted to lescind their former action in the matter and are now offeiing the school site for - sale and ask both Tremonton and Garland Gar-land to make propositions to the board for the new sehool building, and the iown making the best proposition will To this the people of Tremonton and - Garland resent in strong terms, as in dicated in the louowing resolution adopted at a meeting hold at Garland i c., - . Resolution. Whereas, the board of education, Boxolder school district has seen fit to persistently oppose the wishes of the people of the Bear River Valley, in not supplying their needs in tho way of high school facilities, making it necessary for the people to appeal to the legislature to enact a law requiring re-quiring the said board to erect and equip a high school building in this vicinity; and. , Whereas, they have recently solicit-, ed the support of the Bear River Valley Val-ley people in carrying a bond election for ?1S0,000 under the pretense that $75,000 or $S0.000 would be used in erecting a building on a site previously previous-ly bought and paid for by the said board, which site is midway between the cities of Tremonton and Garland, and which site is entirely satisfactory; to the people concerned, and who ! would be benefited by it, and the peo-' plo to whom the said board of educa-' look for patronage, and upon1 Mrhom the success of Ufo school depends; de-pends; and, Whereas, the said board has, In- tentionally or otherwise, deluded, the people of the valley in this matter and in defiance of the expressed wishes oi the people, have taken steps to sell the proposed site, and is making overtures over-tures to the cities of Garland and Tremonton Tre-monton with the understanding that the city offering the most inducements will be awarded the high school, there-1 by making It a city and not a county i affair; now, Therefore, bo it resolved that the people of the Bear River Valley in mass meeting, assembled, express to! tho said board their disappointment J at their conduct, and disapproval ofj any change in the site first proposed and decided upon; and, be it further j Resolved, that an appeal be made i to tho mayors and city councils, and1 Commercial clubs of Tremonton and I Garland, that they, in the Interest ofj the people whom they represent, and serve, shall not make any inducements' whatsoever, to the board of education) j to erect the said building within the i limits of either city; and, be it further Resolved, that five or more representative repre-sentative citizens be appointed a committee com-mittee to take such steps as will be necessary to prosecute the matter to the end that ultimately a high school building will be erected on the site formerly bought and paid for by the i board and now owned by the Boxelder school district, and to this committee we pledge our moral and financial support; sup-port; and, be it further !
