Show L,--.arla.n.. .oce----i (Special to The Standard-Examiner) Mr. and Mrs. Ar.ar Evans of Ogden, were Garland guests, durmg the last week. Mrs. - William Bradford returned from Brigham City, where she attend-end attend-end a farewell party, given in honor of her brother, Mr. D. Peterson, of Brigham, Brig-ham, who will leave this week to do mission work for the L. D. S. church. Mrs. Fanny Harper of Mexico, who has been the guest ot the home of hor brother, Ephraim Cowles and family, returned to her home last week. Mrs. W. R. Van Fieet returned from Brigham, where 3he was in attendance at a wedding reception given In honor hon-or of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Van Fleet. Mrs. Viola Burton and son, Dale, returned re-turned from a visit to Salt Lake, where they passed the week, visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Bowen returned from Malad, Ida., where they attended the funeral services of Mrs. Bowen's niece. Miss Atkinson. Mr. and Mrs. William Evans spent part of last week in Brigham City, visltin gand attending to business matters. mat-ters. Mrs, George O. Nye returned from a visit to Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Van Fleet, who wore recently married in Brigham City, returned to Garland nftor a woek of pleasure. Tho young couple will make their home here. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Abramson hare returned from Salt Lake, where they spent part of last week. A farewell reception was given at the Garland opera house Thursday i evening of last week, in honor of Miss Bessie Edwards, daughtor of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edwards of this cltj". A program consisting of both music and games, was enjoyed by a large assembly. as-sembly. Miss Edwards leaves this week to do missionary work for the L. D. S. church In tho central slates. Miss Ethel Anderson of Kommorer, Wyo., left during the oarly part of the week for her home, after a pleasant visit here as the gue3t of Mr. and Mrs. C. Snyder. Mrs. Poulton of Parke. Idaho, ventured ven-tured to her home after a week's visit here with her mother, Mrs. Emma Gro ver. Mrs. E. V. Schneider returned Tuesday Tues-day from a visit with friends in Brigham Brig-ham City and Ogden. oo |
