Show I uu 'SAFE WRECKED; YEGGS j ESCAPE WITHOUT LOOT SALT LAKE, April 24, Though the large safe of the Solomon-Ingram shoe store, -11 east Broadway, was wrecked by yeggs last night, no loot was secured, se-cured, the police report. Entrance to the store was gained by smashing a panel in a rear door. The burglars are thought lo be the same gang that has been forcing entrance to several east Broadway stores during the past week. Although explosives were used in cracking the safe, no discovery of the attempled theft was discovered until this morning. The safe is valued at $500. Detectives aSsert that nitroglycerine nitro-glycerine was used to open the safe. Both doors were blown from their fasi-onings. fasi-onings. Numerous footprints on the floor and in the alleyway were left by the burglars. |
