Show s ....... ,..,.-..... ...... ,T.-i jr ' i - ( . t. i x .- v ' . f ; IVs-' 1 UINTAH U'ETTES win competition at basketball U'ettes gain first at Box Elder The UHS U'ettes brought home a first place trophy they received at a Drill Team Competition in conjunction with the Box Elder Basketball Tournament Dec. 13-15. The U'ettes performed a military routine Thursday and a dance routine on Friday, Dec. 14. The top two teams in each division were announced Friday, night after the last game. The two teams selected, performed again to determine the first and second place winners. Uintah was chosen as first and Bear River Hi-Steppers took, second. The first-place U'ettes performed per-formed at the championship game between bet-ween Granite and Roy high schools. This is the second competition the U'ettes have competed in this year. In November they competed at Bear River and placed second and received a trophy for the best dance routine. The U'ettes are a 24-member team consisting of both juniors and seniors. Team members are selected in the spring spr-ing and during the summer, they attend a Drill Team Clinic in Logan, Ut. The advisor for the U'ettes for the past three years has been Teresa Murphy. Mur-phy. About the competition at the Box Elder Tournament Mrs. Murphy said, "that this is really an accomplishment because most of the members arc new.
