That year, we needed over 125 million more gallons than we had. NOW: Today, our trucking truck-ing industry is continuing its long-term efforts to save energy through a voluntary program of buying and using fuel efficient optional components. The Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association Asso-ciation reports that the Department of Transportation Transporta-tion estimates the U.S. truck industry has saved over 2.6 billion gallons since 1973. |
