Handicaped corners cause wet feet , M With the first winter storm on us, pedestrians are experiencing wet feet due to water from the melted snow at the corners of Main and Vernal Ave. The curbs, part of the Main Street project have been sloped at the corners to provide for handicapped persons, but in some locations, as in front of the Zion's Bank, the slope of the sidewalk is extreme, causing puddles and potential falls. The State Road and Highways Department, who installed the corners, has been contacted about the corners, but they haven't taken any action, said Shane Luck, city manager. The city has asphalted the corner at Zion's Bank which flattened the slope of the corner, but an ankle-deeD Duddle formed there Saturday during the storm forcing people to walk 15, |
