Iitth arifj fcfj Jolinviti, um'h t The Box Elder Bees had a 17'i point lead of 150 to 132'2 going into the final day of action, but the Uintah Utes swatted swat-ted the Bees with a stinging rally which netted the fifth straight and 13th championship cham-pionship for the Vernal team at the 3-A State Wrestling Tournament at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City last Saturday. Uintah amazed the crowd at the Special Kvcnts Center in Salt Lake City when they won 9 of 14 matches in the consolation bracket Saturday morning for a 109 to 154 lead. The Utcs went on to win their 11th championship in 12 years with a total of 179 points. Following the Uintah Utes in the final standings were: Box Elder, second, lOO'V, Pleasant Grove, third, 141 Va; Tooele, fourth, 107'a ; Davis, fifth, 91; Woods Cross, sixth, 79; Payson, seventh, seven-th, (il1; Spanish Fork, eighth, 59; Carbon, Car-bon, ninth, SO1 and Bear Itiver, tenth, 49 v-i. |
