The following official statement state-ment has been given out by the headquarters head-quarters of the German general staff: - "The battle between the Olse and the Meuse rivers still is continuing, but there are sure indications that the enemy's force -is failing. 'rfThe French attempt to cut through the German right wing was broken down, without notable exertion on the- German side. The German army is advancing slowly, but surely. "A sortie from Verdun on the right bank of the Meuse was most easily repulsed." re-pulsed." Another official statement issued by the German general staff says that all the German airships came up to expectations, after undergoing long and dangerous flights. Some of the air craft, were damaged, dam-aged, but now all of them have been, repaired. re-paired. None has been destroyed or captured cap-tured by the enemy. |
