Show WIFE OF SALT LAKE j MAN WINS DIVORCE Mrs. Doris Meier Newins Granted De- cree in Denver j Courts. J Special to The Tribune. I DENVER, Colo., Sept. IS. Mrs. Doris '. IVIeier Mewius, well known Denver society so-ciety woman, was granted a divorce here this afternoon from Jarvis P. Newins, who has resided in Salt Lake since shortly after their marriage in March, 1913. Newins made no defense other than a general denial of his wife's allegations of infidelity. Mrs. Newins charged that her husband hus-band was guilty of misconduct, and alleged al-leged that she secured the evidence herself her-self when she made a secret trip to Salt : Lake soon after her husband left Denver. Den-ver. Mips Mae Myers, an :te.7.ress known , on the stage as Mae Morrell, was j named as co-respondent. Another worn- , an was also mentioned in the proceed- , inga, but her name was not divulged. : Phe Newins were married in bait Lake within twenty -four hours after Newins had obtained a divorce in the county court here from his first wife, ' who resides in an eastern city. It wan alleged that he courted and won Miss Meier while he was prosecuting his divorce suit. Mrs. Newins is the daughter of Theodore Theo-dore L. Meier, president of the Bauer Confectionery company. The parents did not attend t be wedding, in Salt Lak City, and it was said that they did not fully approve V)f the marriage. It is understood that the question of alimony ali-mony was arranged out of court. |
