The Illinois Republicans met in convention here todav to-dav and in a harmonious session elected Garrett Do Forrest Kinney of Peoria ..-airman of the Republican state central cen-tral eommittpe, and adopted a platform which includes a plank for unlimited woman suffrage. The threatened fight over the selection selec-tion of the chairman of the Mate central cen-tral committee failed to materialize, but the Sherman faction de.-lared to- j night that this action is merely preliminary prelim-inary nd that the regular meeting of the committee must be held in Springfield Spring-field thirty days after the formal call is issued. Former Governor Deneen had full control of the committeemen from the start. Mrs. Thomas H. Byrnes of Chicago took, the leadership iu the fight ot the suffragists to secure recognition and finally secured the insertion of u plank calling for unlimited woman suffrage in the 1014 Republican platform.
